2015 Resolutions

Hello everybody!

I'm a couple of weeks late with this, but Happy New Year! I spent NYE with my boyfriend and some of his family. I've never really had a good new year's eve before, so it was really lovely to have a chilled night and a few drinks, even if those few did turn into a few too many and I spent the first day of 2015 with a killer hangover, surprise surprise!

I'm not normally one to make new years resolutions as I find they're forgotten about within a couple of weeks but I feel I'm ready to make some changes in my life. Here are a few;

1) Blog more!
I started this blog around this time last year as a way to be a little more creative. Doing a business and marketing degree has creative aspects, but during my school years I studied fashion and art and I really miss it. I'm hoping this can be a way for me to get back to being more creative again.

2) Learn to drive
After many years of 'I'll learn to drive in the summer' and then never following through, I've decided now is the time to crack on and pass my test. I had my first lesson a couple of days ago and my instructor said I picked everything up easily which reassured me a lot. I'm quite a panicky person so the thought of driving on real roads with other cars was a little scary.

3) Use my time more efficiently
I may as well have 'Queen Procrastinator' as my middle names. Whether it be spending hours on netflix, tumblr, or even cleaning the uni flat, I will probably do just about everything before settling down to do uni work. That needs to change, even if I still have netflix on in the background whilst doing work.

4) Be more healthy
Yes okay, possibly the most stereotypical resolution going. But if I manage to stick to this one, I feel it will make me a lot happier within my own skin. Plus, I'd like to lose some weight before I go away to Spain in June with my boyfriend and his family (I'm already getting too excited about this). I'll probably try posting some healthy recipes on here if they're any good!

5) Make time for those who matter
I read somewhere it's between the ages of 20 to 25 that you lose your 'temporary friends' and learn who you can depend on. Although that could be a load of bullshit, I've learnt a lot in the last year about who is trustworthy and who wants the best for me. That being said, I aim to be a better friend, whether that be just dropping a text in to my friends who are miles away at uni more or sticking to plans. Quality is definitely more important than quantity when it comes to friendships.

6) Progress within my job
I've been working part time at the same place for four and a half years and know the place inside out, so hopefully there will be a promotion coming my way soon! Plus it would look good on my CV when I (eventually) finish uni.

7) 'Just say yes'
Motto of one of my favourite beauty bloggers, Zoella. I'd like 2015 to be a year fully packed with new adventures and trips without being anxious about things.

Do any of you have similar resolutions and tips on sticking to them?
Happy 2015 everyone!
Melanie xo
